With over 1,110 members on this board, I know some of you have been fishing in the Santiams lately. This leads me to believe that either the fishing stinks, or more likely, you're rat-holin' some success and don't want to attract any more of a crowd than is probably already up there. Seriously, if anyone has been on the rivers lately, particularly the South, I would greatly appreciate a report. Being from Central Oregon, it makes it hard to just pop over for a couple hours of fishing to get a feel for what's going on. In case you were wondering, the Deschutes salmonfly hatch should be real good this year. Some bugs have already been seen in the Maupin area. Not quite a springer, but a Redside hammering a #6 dry is quite an experience.

I fished from Shelbourne to Jefferson on Sunday and if we had only brought some flowers and that colored gauze it would have been a beatiful parade. images/icons/rolleyes.gif Seriously though, too many boats and too few fish for me. Only heard of three caught and the only fish I saw were near death winter fish.

I fish the Santian river on Monday. We fished from Jefferson to I 5 bridge. There were lots the boats. I've never seen so many boats on Monday. I did not hear of any fish being caught. My brother lost one fish. I know fish were there, we seen them jump. The fish have locked jaw.

Waters to high and they keep dumping out of the dams which kills the bite. I was going to go Tuesday and they raised the N.F. 6 inches overnight. Still early for the NF fish and I haven't heard any good reports and likely won't as long as the Corps. of Eng. keep fluctuating the river levels.

I my kid and I picked up a nice springer last night above lebanon. Yes the fish are rolling and the water is really moving... Sal
