Here are my little hummers and a fun pic from my digital camera, the Nikon Coolpix 950! I love the macro lens!
I wish the hummie hadn't hidden her face, but isn't this amazing???
I was 1 foot away!
I have to go take Andrew to a doc, and then me to a surgeon YUCK! Looks like both of us are looking forward to yet more knives.
They found yet more gauze stuffed into Andrews surgery they forgot to remove. Now it has healed over and they will need to go back in there.
What is it like to fish?

Hi Jen, cool picture. The digital cameras are really neat. I have one but its a cheapy and does not do as nice a job as yours does. I have a humming bird posed like that only its made out of wood. The better half is a nut about collecting items of the hummingbird species. She would rather buy that stuff then let me have a new fishing pole, what a rip. Gauze left in???? How common is this? That's pretty scary!! I had nose surgery last year for a deviated septum. They packed my nose so full of crap. I'd heard of them forgetting gauze before, it took forever before I was convinced that there wasn't any gauze up my nose or sinuses anymore.
It is not that common, we take MANY precautions to avoid such problems. There is big money in those cases. I have been doing surgery everyday for the last nine years and it has happened once. Those are very good odds, seeing as I do about 5 surgeries a day. Although it is a very easy thing to do, it does not happen very often. Looks like Jennies kid gets the prize.
PS they smell great once you take them out! images/icons/shocked.gif
PPS Sinker: you should see what they use to put those packs in your nose! images/icons/shocked.gif

Unless there is damage done, due to these mishaps, there is no money, ZaQ, that I believe. I suppose anyone can sue anyone for anything, but so far, they have just apologized profusely.
It's very scary though, and stressful. Andrew has had what, 8 surgeries in 13 years of life? He does not want another one!
Anyway, it did smell AWFUL! I told the doc for weeks after his oral surgery that Andrews breath was awful! They kept saying it was normal... NOT!!! Then we found out why!
I had that same surgery on the septum, sinker! It hurt, didn't it!!! Dang, my nose was huge!!! But I can breathe now!!

Jenny, get a lawyer. Let me know if you need a reference.
The damage is the sponge being left in. BUT, I was thinking this was some belly case, not a nasal deal. When instruments or sponges and other things are left in, that is negligence. And in this day and age people sue for a lot less. Being that it is a nasal case, it is probably more like post op packing and not a sponge. That would be where you had them. images/icons/rolleyes.gif

It wasn't a nasal case, ZaQ, it was oral surgery. Very dangerous for Andrew, having MVP, and needing extensive antibiotics. Anyway, this is not fishing related...

Jennie,
As far as the septum thing goes, my nose never hurt once even when they pulled the packing out. What killed me was my throat from that danged breathing tube. Couldn't eat anything for a week. But I'd have it done again, next time I break my nose images/icons/shocked.gif
And the picture of the hummingbird was?
