Was thinking of trying Silver Creek Resevoir out tomorrow with my son. Having only driven by I was wondering if anyone had tips on where to go and what to use on the resevoir.

Thanks in advance

I lived in Silverton for 10 years and my kids grew up fishing the res. they plant it well and also put brood stock in. My 4 year old daughter caught a 22 inch rainbow there. I haven't been there for awhile but you can park in the parking area and had east up the trail, you will find a fork that goes down to the water which I used to fish, also you can walk further to a little point(maybe 1/4 th mile) but I've seen fish caught just about everywhere... close to the spillway too.

I fished there on the 3rd just for an hour or so and did pretty well. I released a few and kept a few. I was using powerbait bout a foot and a half off the bottom, always seems to do pretty well. Yellow, Orange, or Green always seem to be the better colors. I just go down the Trail to the east until I hit the first y and take the right path, you can fish pretty much anywhere and catch fish but I have the best luck right where the path hits the water or just to the right of that. Hope my 2 cents helps

Thanks for the info.
We tried Walter Worth in Salem last night and were having a great time until a bunch of kids decided to swim where we were fishing. Then to make things worse their Dad came down with his rod and not wanting to cast into his kids he cast over the top of my line. Needless to say two times of that and I was ready to go since I didn't want to make a scene. My son was real disappointed and I told him I would make it up to him tonight.

Im usually fishing with some of my younger cousins or friends and powerbait seems to stay on a lil better than Pautzkes for them, I save my "BALLS O FIRE" for above Detroit in the rivers this summer or when im fishing out of my raft or boat. Eggs are also my go to bait if nuthin else is workin.
