I'm considering heading over to the Deschutes this weekend. Does anybody know if fish are being caught around Shears Falls? Do you have any suggestions where I could find some information? Thanx!!!

I wouldn't go any higher than three miles up from the mouth, at this time of year.

I was in GI Joe's last weekend in Bend, and the fellow behind the counter said there were some fish up at the falls, but it was slow.

Asking the guys at GI Joes in Bend for help is like having the blind leading the blind. Maybe, if you want help rigging a bobber and worm for planter trout at South Twin, they might be able to help. Anything to do with serious salmon or steelhead fishing, you might as well forget it. I always keep a list and do all my shopping at Fisherman's when I make it to Portland.
