In Northern Mississippi (Desoto County) is lake Arkabutla (sp) I have personally caught Crappie as big as the ones in the pictures, minnows are the go to bait and drop them into the tree tops, here in Oregon the best Crappie comes out of Owyhee Res. up around the Cathedral Rocks...take lots of ammo..the snakes are bad...Steve

Dang! My scanner's out of commission as I'm in the process of building a new computer, but I have in my hot little hands a picture of a crappie taken by Frank Reed from a pond along the Willamette River that weighed three and three-quarters pounds (the fish, not Frank). Here, I'll hold it up to the monitor so you can see .... images/icons/rolleyes.gif
Seriously, when things are back to what passes for normal around my office I'll post the suckah ....
