It's not too early, as some has been landed to date. I was on the lower river today with no bites from Mill Site to Morgan Park. Only boat...Good tides to push fish, expected better...

Hey plunker is that a fairly easy float for a novice drift boater? I know the upper river by moonshine is somewhat hairy but how about downriver?

Eye's closed an one oar and you can float the lower river, no bad water down down low. Had a killer chicken fried steak and eggs for breakfast at the Little Chief, its a most stop and eat before rowing the river.. images/icons/wink.gif images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/tongue.gif
I'm meeting some friends in Newport this weekend who are interested in trying to catch a steelhead. Are there any summer runs in the Siletz yet or is it too early? Thanks!

I fished the gorge sunday. The only fish I saw were dark winter fish. I sat and watched them spawn for a while and then moved along. I talked to another guy who said he had been up there the last three weeks and hadn't seen a bright fish yet. He said folks were starting to pick them up downstream though. Hope that helps, Scott
Thanks for the info. Probably go give it a try this week. I know the fishing will be good, the catching is incidental. Tight lines. images/icons/cool.gif
