Well spring Chinook is over ... for me at least. For the next two months I will be down in Astoria enjoying the best sturgeon fishing of the year!

Here are some of the springer pictures from this season, along with some of the sturgeon pictures that never made it out of the camera in April!

Buster, John, Rod Gordon and Kelley with some 3 year old springers and the big 5 year old fish weighed in at 23 pounds! My face still hurts from all of the jokes and one liners from this trip!

Tom brought the family out from Minnesota to get away from the snow and enjoy some fishing. 3 hatchery fish and two wild ones made for a great day!

I managed to fit in a couple of family fishing days this year. Here is my buddy Bret and my Dad. This is my Dad's second biggest springer ever, it checked in at 22.5 pounds.

Wait ... wait ... wait... get him Sheyenne! Get him! And he did it perfectly!
Sheyenne with his first salmon ever! He fought it like a pro from beggining to end, even following the fish from the front of the boat to the back, and around the motors. What an awesome fisherman for being so young! Some people just get this fishing thing and he is one of them! I was impressed! There are definitely more fish in his future!

Gordon and Mike Ellsworth. Gordon on the left holding one of his many spring Chinook that he has caught over the decades! This was a special trip, thank you for sharing it with me!

Mark Bonsack with a nice 20 pound springer, his brother Bruce caught one that we had to let go that made Mark's fish look small.

I only have one day left open for the Columbia River Estuary sturgeon season and that is Tuesday June 12th, other than that day I'm all booked up.

I'm looking forward to spending some time in the estuary it's one of my favorite seasons. Great weather, huge fish, lots of fish, seeing friends, hanging out at Sturgeon Paul's, lots of fish! What's not to like?!
