I need some thoughts and prayers Im not going to go into detail but it would help me out. Last time i asked for prayers when i was quitting smoking I lasted one month but ive never lasted one month this is going to be my last night smoking. Im going to give quitting another shot and this time maybe a little bit more willpower on my part. My 2 girls i dont want them to grow up watching me smoke. Im short handed right now and my world is very stressfull right now:passout:

You got it buddy, you got my thoughts and prayers!!! Go Get Em!!! Here is a good verse that I keep close that helps me through me anxiety at times:

"You become what you think. No one else controls your thoughts unless you give them the power over you. Your words reflect your heart. For out of a man's heart are the issues of life. Guard your heart! Control all of your thoughts" (1Cor. 10:5)
I could see how this could relate in ways, and I hope it gives you the same strength and willpower it gives me!

You are in my   One of the hadest things to dois to quit smoking. When I smoked I always wanted one right after I ate and I think that is the way most people that smoke are, so right after you eat you might want to do something that will keep your mind off of wanting to light up. IMHO..
I smoked for close to 15 years , ran out of smokes on a Wednesday, bumbed smokes till Friday night, and havent smoked since, about 33 years ago. Don't ask me how I did it cause I don't know, I just did it.
I wish and pray the same for you.

My grandma smoked for 37 years, then one day woke up and quit!
Good luck to you; If it can happen to her, it WILL happen to you!
It's so funny, because now she walks around saying "Gosh I hate that Cigarette smell!"

Dear Lord,

In your word you say "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believeing, you will recieve." (Matt 21:22). We know You answer prayer in many different ways and that we can't rush Your timing so Lord, I just prayer that you will bring peace to wilsonriverfisher. Bring him a sense of comfort that You are there and that YOU alone will get him through this. In James 1:2-3 it is written "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trails, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." Lord through this second try to quit smoking... build Him up... keep Him strong, and most of all Lord bring Him ever closer in his walk with YOU so that he may look back and say "God is with me and was with me during that time." You are an awesome God, and you alone are worthy to be Praised and Exalted in times of need. Be his fortress and Rock, his shelter, his refuge. :) I just pray this in Jesus' Name... AMEN!!

Your daughters will love you and appreciate you for not smoking. Also see it as a way to show Jesus Christ in yourself... for that is a witness on its own.

IN christ,

Been ther, done that[on the smoking, YES, it is hard], CONSIDER THIS...Let me try to help...Sir, I quit this way...I do beleive in God, I know He created All, so He is INFINITELY powerfulll...I would ask Him, at any time I wanted a smoke, to please just help me to not have the FIRST ONE...that was back in 1991, I slipped once or twice before November of 91, but no problem since. This is also how He helped me to remain sober since 1986...one day at a time. Good luck...Ken

FESTY..makes a great point because when you say, “I can manage this problem, Lord,” God is likely to say, “Okay, you do it then.” But when you say, “Help me, Lord! I need You. I cannot do this on my own,” God says, “Good, I have been waiting for you to say that. You cannot, but I can. Now, watch me!” That is how God is He loves it when you depend on Him.

You see, when you think that you are strong, God cannot help you. But when you need Him and look to Him, He will not leave you weak and helpless. He comes and becomes the strength of your life. He becomes the breakthrough that you need.

A church member with a smoking habit came to me one day and said, , please pray that God will help me. I want to stop my smoking habit.”

I simply told him, “You cannot, but God can.”

He replied, “Yes, I know that I cannot. But with God helping me, I will discipline myself and try my best to quit the habit.”

I told him, “No, you cannot, but God can.” I repeated this to him a few times until he realised that it was not his self-discipline or willpower that would help him overcome his smoking habit, but the power of God. He finally understood that his true deliverance from this destructive habit would not come by his own strength, but by being strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

When I saw him again a few weeks later, he said, since that day, I did not even try to stop myself from smoking. But each time I lit up, I told God, ‘I cannot, but You can.’ Then one day, the craving was gone! Jesus has completely delivered me from my bondage to nicotine!” This man experienced true deliverance, not just an outward form of discipline and willpower.

So when you say, “I can do something about it,” you are still relying on your human strength. But when you say to God, “I cannot, but You can,” you have just tapped into the real source of your strength "Jesus". And as you feed on His strength, you will see His power exploding in your life.

I have found out many times in my life ....our Lord is at his best...when we are on our knees ,tears running down our face, and saying " It is now up to you Lord, I can not do this on my own" PLease Help!..

Lord bless you my friend..I will be praying

One day at a time. I wake up every day and tell myself "Today, I will not smoke."

If I fall - I get back up and start over. Don't give up completely if you slip. I know it's hard, but have faith that you can do it, and you will.

Its not easy overcoming an addiction.
I noticed the pictures of your kids and can understand the motivation for quiting.

Besides going after your relationship with God you might consider a support group of spiritual men who are trying to overcome. We have a CR group (Chemical recovery) in our church.

I appreciate you being vulnerable with your struggles.

If God is powerful enough to Create All with a word...surely He is strong enough to help a person to not have the first smoke....then you will not have the second one....take it one smoke at a time, or put it off for 10 minute;s...every time you want one, or....distract yourself, it help's:):):)

You are in my prayers. Only He can give us true peace that passes all human understanding that keeps our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God says in Luke 18: 24-29: And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. I finally understand why He has not allowed my wife and I to be rich. We are thankful for the blessings He has given us - especially His gift of Salvation. We are grateful to live in this free country. I will never understand why he chose me.
