I just recieved an email from Nail Knot's (Randy Hedrick) sister that Randy has passed away. Some of you may know Randy personally and know what a torturous year he had endured. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, May 20, at 2 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Portland (near intersection of SW Vermont and 45th Ave. - hidden back behind some houses, across from the community center).I hope you can come, and I hope you can spread the word to Randy's fishing friends.
Sorry to hear this Pat, thanks for passing this on!

I am not an avid fisherman but I did spend many summer weeks with Randy during the Salmon Fly hatch on the Deschutes River some years ago. I also had the privilege of going fishing with him on many other occasions, crabbing, clamming, etc., all of which he organized and prepared everything for. I can't believe that is not going to happen again. You just don't truly fathom how important someone is to your life until you realize you aren't going to grow old together. We will make one more trip to spread his ashes in some places special to him. Randy told me of Ifish many times and I know he truly appreciated the community. Randy had many passions but none compared with fishing which he pursued since he was a child. I would like to think that those that knew Randy might have a thought of him from time to time when you are fishing as I suspect that is all it would take for him to be there enjoying the day with you in spirit.
