The latest news is anglers and just everyone who loves this special place, the Metolius Valley, needs to weigh in, NOW.

Especially important are folks to speak up if they reside in these Senate Districts:

Sen. Metsger (east Multnomah county) Tons of east county people enjoy the Metolius, please tell Sen. Metsger you want it conserved as is, and to vote yes on SB30.

Sen. Morse (Albany area) ditto here

Sen. Kruse (Douglas County)

These are the swing votes and a "yes" vote from these Senators is crucial to get SB 30 voted out of committee this Thursday evening. Otherwise the bill dies and say hello to Mega Development in the Metolius Valley.

Their contact info and the rest of the committee members voting on SB30 are:

Senator Morse is a fisherman. He'll do the right thing for his part. What time will we know if this bill has been voted out of committee?

With stakes like this, don't take anything for granted. If you're a constituent, give him a call or email. There's still time!

Metsger needs to hear from folks too.

Today's hearing doesnt' start until 6pm...it'll probably go late due to public testimony.

I'll post an update when available.

Just sent an email to my Senator (who is not on the committee) asking her to urge her colleagues on the the Education and General Government Committee to send the bill to the Senate floor for a vote.

Also sent emails to those on the committee.

It only took a few minutes. Gary K provided all the info you need to contact committee members.

Here's how you can find who your senator is: http://www.leg.state.or.us/findlegsltr/

Hey, they are there so that you can let 'em know what you think. Do it.
