I know a guy that would like to sell me a Seatel 550 VHF radio. It has been checked and it works.

My question is this, what is a fair price. I am on a serious budget (ask my wife) so I can't spend any more than I have to. I really believe that I need a VHF. Should I buy a cheap new one?

Thanks in advance,

I bought a Uniden MC 1020 and 5' antenna for under 200 including S&H. Good radio!

Good luck, if it works and is a good price I say buy it.

Just as a point of comparison, I have an Apelco (Raytheon) 52 which cost me $149, plus an antenna. It's 25 watts and will monitor channels I select.

Well I don't know anything about that brand, but if it has all of the marine channels and weather stations AND IT WORKS I say buy it. Does it come with an antenna? I think that it is very important to have a VHF radio in addition to a cell phone.

Good luck.

Thanks orsturgeon,

So do you think getting into the seatel for under $100 is a deal or what?
