I only have a driftboat but I hose it out after every trip, always have sand in it at the end of the day. I will usually wash the outside about every other trip to get the waterline mark off.

If we play in the saltchuck or the Willamette during a brown trout run, everytime inside and out. Otherwise inside everytime and outside for scum line removal.
Always flush salt out of engines.
We pickup adult beverage containers when they pile up.

Only cleaned after crabbing. And that is because of all of the seaweed. Other than that I dont touch it for clean up. But I crab quite often so I guess it gets cleaned kind of often.
No reason to clean it this year after fishing. Not enough blood on it to smell bad on a series of hot days. images/icons/frown.gif
I guess I am a freak about cleans boats. I clean my drift boat w/ soap and h2o after each trip.. doesn't take much time and it makes for a much more enjoyable trip the following day.
As for the new Predator (which is coming in 42 days,.... no sweatheart I'm not counting)
Saltwater and air is so tough on equipment, my boat a gear both get good scrub'ins at the end of the day. I like to wipe the Bently's down, as well as all electronics and hose out down the inside. I even clean my tackle boxes after each trip. images/icons/shocked.gif
And most of all , the 981's and calcutta 400's all get a shot of REM oil before they are put up.
SO.... am I off my rocker? My 1993 Fish Rite drift boat still looks brand new...

I am with TH, I clean it down everytime. Guess I am anal about that.
You should see Bait's boat, jeez! images/icons/shocked.gif

I wash the outside with car soap about once a month to keep it clean and keep the scum line off. Once a year I pay a kid $100 to rub down the bottom and unpainted part of the sides with aluminum polish to get the oxidation off - looks brand new again when he's done. Otherwise I just wipe the inside painted surfaces down with a rag when I have spare time out fishing and I always flush the motor when I've been in the salt. When I leave my boat in moorage at the coast in the summer it grows green scum below the water line. I pull it out every week and use one of those weed sprayers with 50% bleach and 50% water and then the stuff just falls off when you spray it with a hose. I always wipe up fish slime and then scrub the floor since I have a dog and don't want him to get poisoned.

If iam fishing salt water it gets a real good cleaning as soon as i get home, thats a good wash at the local car wash, wiped down, waxed and motor flush. Fresh water it gets a wash after each use, wipe down. images/icons/grin.gif

I'm a clean freak too. images/icons/rolleyes.gif Salt is a definate wash inside and out and motor flush. Fresh water I'll wipe her down and at clean the blood out. In the past I have polished and waxed at least 2x a year and use 303 on the top 2-3x a year.
ZaQ, I've seen Bait's boat too. I think the fir needles and cedar droppings on the floor give the boat a foresty feel. images/icons/wink.gif
The topic arose in another thread ... now I'm curious. How often do you clean your boat? Do you clean thoroughly every time, or do you do a regular rinse down and an occasional scrub down?
If I'm in the salt I hit a spray wash as soon as possible on the way home. (Those high pressure jets do a great job on crab pots.) If I'm in fresh water I don't wash unless my buddy was dripping peanut butter and jelly all over the place. Stugeon fishing, with it's drippy smelt and nasty scents, requires a little more work.
So what do you do?

If it stinks, I wash it. If there is a scum line I wash it. If i'm getting in after a 14 hour fishing day and I'm late forsomething i bag it, put the boat away, but go out within a day or two and clean it up the second trip.
I believe in washing the outside whenever she gets in the water, time permitting. Wash the inside everytime you see saltwater.
Washing on a regular basis helps to maintain paint jobs and keeps the value of the boat up. If your anal about washing your car, your anal about washing the boat. I'm anal about washing my tuna. har har

Well Waterdog and Zaq (not sure if I want to call you "Mr. Negative" with the new moniker or "the fisherman formerly known as Zaq" since you have that cute little prince action figure images/icons/rolleyes.gif hanging from the mirror in your cruzer) shamed me into washing the boat last night. The foresty feeling is gone images/icons/frown.gif
Maybe with the new look the fishing will improve.
Waterdog, I am jealous, you get a nice new shiny boat today. images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/grin.gif

I like clean boats but am careful what I use on them. Avoid the use of bleach as it repels fish. A small amount of bleach or even the residue on your hull could drive fish away from your boat. Use WD40 on aluminum to clean deposits off. I carry a long handle car wash brush and wash the outside of the boat in river water to loosen scum if it is moored. Just plain river water gets the road scum and mud off. Inside the boat again WD40 and a vacuum takes care of most of it. images/icons/tongue.gif

During the summer I usually (wife says always) fish both saturday and sunday. Saturday cleaning is usually a quick blood wash but every sunday evening I flush the motors, and pressure wash the boat. The same for all the rods and reels.
