Dennis was up in Washington at the Church House Hole and there were 5 sturgeon fishermen fishing off the rocks there.
Looked like they were doing good.
Saw one keeper on the rocks.
Ya know just before the tunnel going into Chinook.
Its started allready.
Use Mud Shrimp and Sand Shrimp now.
Good fishing,

Fished for sturgeon last week near Trojan. Bite was on all day long. I had to call it short at noon, but by that time, I had caught 7, my brother 8 or 9, and my brother-in-law about a dozen. All non-keepers though, ranging from 36-40 inches average, and one just a hair shy of legal. Missed a ton of strikes too, and lost several. My damn arm hurt from reeling in so many fish. We fished smelt, herring, and squid. Seemed that the fish liked the herring the best, though. One of the funnest fishing days I've had in a long time, and I cant wait to get back out.
If you want to have a fun fishing trip, and dont care if you catch keepers or not, anchor anywhere near Trojan in about 90-115' of water. Fish lighter gear and it makes the fish seem so much bigger images/icons/wink.gif.

Salmon, salmon, salmon, boy dosn't anyone Sturgeon fish anymore?Sorry, I needed to get that off my chest.I am going to deep river on the Wa. side this weekend for the first time and am wondering if anyone has anything to report from that area as well as Tongue point and or Warrenton. Are the fish coming in from the ocean in any numbers yet? Thank you for any input on my question.

Thanks Captain and Marie, and Matt for your responses.Sounds like a fun trip Matt, and I have been there and done that. You know, it does seem like the fish like the deeper water from Trojan on up to Columbia city. I was down there around the end of Feb. and didn't do worth a damn.I kind of have my heart set on keepers in shallower waters.I'll let you guys know how we did when we return.Plenty of smelt and sand shrimp, thanks again.
