I see TFO makes an 11ft 5wt spey rod..anyone ever use one of these? I would really like to us a spey rod for trout fishing, since I no longer live on the N Umpqua in the summer...

No I haven't but speypages.com will have what you need.

thought I'd never admit this, but I bought a Cabelas 6wt/11ft spey in the bargain basement for $100, and I love it. It allows me to fish in places that would otherwise be innaccessible. I'm not a steelhead fisher, but I have caught 20"+ browns with it (as well as a few "smaller" rainbows).

I haven't used the TFO, but I've got a 10'6" Beulah 4/5 that's a kick in the pants for nymphing, and doesn't over power your average trout. I'll second Slow and Low, got to speypages and I'm sure you'll find a review of the TFO there.

I have cast the tfo and the beulahs and actually think the TFO is a better casting rod, nowhere near the cosmetics but on pure casting.
