It looks like no one is adding any information, so I will give my :twocents: .
I have found the that lake is not bad (not great). Lacamas lake is a bit slow to warm in the spring (clear and a bit deep but the water is off colorer from May on. The biggest thing if fish early in the morning. On clowdy days fish the out side weed edges. Keep moving till you find fish. The lake has allot of small fish abd it also has some very big bass. In the spring they bass sometimes move the the inside weed line and you can hammer them when they do that! Rocks, logs, docks and downed trees are all good places at Lacamas Lake. Tyr to fish it mid week (water skiers can be bad on the weekends).
I hope this helps!

I have been bass fishing this lake for 13 years this time of year is not going to be great but you can pick up some of the smaller fish, start out at the bridge and work the bank, docks, stumps any cover you can find, try using some roster tails and spinner baits I like pink and green also if you have a small boat go to the other side of the lake and fish up by the creek lots of fish up the creek check the reg's though for that I am not sure if it is open right know and good luck if you need more info PM me:twocents: :smash: :smash:

Like Roger said, exactly
lots of small fish to be caught on small shallow running crank baits and the 3" senko is good

Was the only boat on the entire lake on Tuesday afternoon.
water temp was 58', caught two small dinks is all. The daughter called and needed a ride home from school, so that ended the fun for that day.

That new launch on the south side of the lake seems like it's in a really bad spot. I could not find less than 3' of water just past the narrow spot to get out to the main lake. The rocks in that area are also not marked very well at all, I was 20 yards from the "danger - rocks" bouy and saw a huge rock right out my window (with plenty of boat marks on it. If you move away to the lefton the way out, it just gets shallow. What a joke. I wonder how many props and boats are damaged every year there.
On the other hand, caught some trout and a small perch. Probably not going back to that lake (even though it's right down the road), but I don't fish for bass all that much anyways. I've seen some big bass out of there in the past couple years, though.

fishing the lake on Tuesday, something HUGE came completely out of the water 10 ft. from my boat.
20 ft. away this time, a 6 ft. sturgeon comes completely up and out of the water, I was in 14 ft of water at the time.
Anyone ever caught a sturgeon at Lacamas Lake ?

Yep, its a little tricky right there Matt. Plus the water is down about 2 ft right now.

went to lacamas lake today just to take the boat out for a spin and check the place out I was not all that impressed with it its ok but not what I expected and you could not be more right about the shallow water getting out to the main lake if a person did not have a depth finder they would be in serious trouble I was in a 12ft valco and didnt like it at all I can imagine if I was in a 16ft + boat it would suck it goes from 20ft to 3 ft in 10 ft or less and the rocky ares spread out a long ways from the markers I went over to round lake barely made it under the bridge then my electric motor died so I turned around and called it a day not many fish on the finder but it does not tell all I may go back when the water warms up it was 58 today overall good for closeness to pdx but I will have to see if the fishing is any good looks ripe for big bass.

Well come to find out there are actually bass in that lake and nice ones to you must be patient and work any structure that you can find. A little bit of insite for anybody going out there soon the south side of the lake is good lots of down trees and branches to get into. I was using a strike king bitsy bug (black & Blue) with a zoom super chunk in a june bug color and as far as the fish go I caught 2 nice ones( I know, where are the pictures) one was 2.9 and the other was a about 2 or just over but the one I lost was really nice and excitement got the best of me and I busted it off with 10lb test so she is still out there hope someone catches her.

Remember, big baits, catch big fish. (pre-spawn)
Lacamas Lake is difficult for the new person to the lake.
There is more and more green slime each year, hate that stuff, a sign I believe that the lake is going down hill, never having caught anything in it or near it. There are new homes now in three directions and I believe alot of the slime is caused by stuff draining from these homes. The lake never had this before the forrests were removed and parking lots installed. As the slime now encompasses most of the good spawning areas, shallow flats near deeper water.
So, here is a hint, no point in even fishing anything that is encased in green slime. A motor boat tour of the lake, You will quickly see how much area is lost and areas without the slime are becoming fewer and fewer each year. Nothing lives in those areas, no bluegills, no perch, no cats and for sure no bass.
Lacamas Lake gets a lot of fishing pressure, mostly for planted trout in the lake center but as the bass holding areas are reduced each year, the pressure on the remaining areas becomes heavier. Then You throw in the ski boats and PWC, the main lake shoreline is not fishable as it is turned to mud.
One thing that really frustrates the newbie to the lake is the Milfol in the 5ft. to 14ft zones. Once was Milfol was great holding areas for the larger bass, now ----- it is Milfol/slime equals,,,,, NOT
Unless a goverment body steps up and undertakes a plan to turn the lake around, it will become a strictly planted trout pond. Maybe this is what is desired by some.......
Would I eat a fish from this lake, not me, no way.
A jogging path at lakes edge on one side with homes above that and a creek that feeds the lake that runs off of cow pastures, small home plots and the Army's firing center.
If it be known, the what now is a private boat launch for the rich and famous on the west side, was suppose to be a public launch but we can see how that worked out.
WoW, what a rant this turned into... Good fishing !
