Question:
How much stock do you place on Solunar Calanders? (http://www.in-fisherman.com/reference/solunar/calendars/)

knowing the different moon phases and how the bass position during each one can be helpfull. i like fishing on a new moon, but i cant honestly say it helped. but i like to think it does lol.

I don't follow them but, I think all animals/fish react to the moon phases in differing ways. As B-Run said, I wouldn't let them decide if I were going to go or not go fishing.

A solunar table are just a small piece of a big puzzle.

I agree w/ ya BUT when your juggling family duties, honey do's, camping, walleye fishing, turkey hunting, squirrel hunting, bear hunting, deer scouting, halibut & tuna fishing......I have to weigh all the pros/cons. Should I do this, or should I do that, this weekend in order to maximize my success at whatever I choose.

Don't really want to go walleye fishing if for example the moon is full and they are feeding at night even thought the water temp is ok and flow perfect.

I can see where the moon can also determine if it'll be a morning bite or a mid day smallie bite. Again I maybe more apt to blow off work and hit an evening fish rather than work on honey do's if the solunar calander shows it should be a good evening bite and all other factors are in my favor.

Just a question.....like Buku said, another peice of the puzzle. Doesn't mean you should'nt try to understand solunar tables, moon phases and how they relate to fish feeding patterns in particular night feeding. their have been times I went out fishing and simply couldn't buy a bite when I knew the fish were there. WHY? Perhaps they fed all night and simply wouldn't go on the feed until later.

Just seeking knowledge, and what better way than to compare notes with my fellow bucketheads.
Just thought some of you could compare your log books to the solunar calander.

A few years ago, Infisherman did a study of those Master Angler fish caught within two days of a full or new moon. Five days times two equals 33.3% of a thirty day month, yet 42% of the qualifying fish were caught during those two periods. So there is a demonstrable statistical correlation.
Was that what you were looking for?
Here's one man's opinion.

Glad to be of help. Did we meet a couple of years ago at Oxbow rez? I recall a sled left high and dry due to the nightly draw down.
