Un-intentionally caught my first over-size down at Bonnie today, did not try to measure it, but it had to be a min. of 7 ft....closer to 8...took half an hour to "land", scarred, gnarly looking, released un-harmed. I just purchased some Thill bobbers, slip type...can someone please recomend some good bobber stops, I could buy locally? Thank-you! images/icons/shocked.gif
Take a piece of kite string, looped it once and lay it against the mainline above the boober. Pass one end of the string over the mainline and through the loop 6 or 7 times. Pull both tag ends and walla! Don't forget your bead between the boober and the knot.

And don't forget your boober. Freudian slip ZaQ?

30 lb Dacron works better for a bobber stop. Though I have never tried string. I might have to give that a shot.
Thill floats are nice. Have you seen West Coast foats? They come in a bunch of different sizes. They are made out of foam and they are virtually idestructable, Unlike the Thill's.

Just my two cents.
I have found that good old waxed, unflavored, dental floss makes a great bobber stopper.
its easy to pack, it's cheap, and the wax helps keep the stopper in place.
