Well I'm going out for the last springer run this year on monday. I'll be trying out of St. Helens and the lower channel. Anyone doing any good in that area Sunday. one last try for my first springer. I'll check back here in the AM before I head out.

KL,
Sunday sucked on the east side of Sand Island. Couldn't tell how the "80" line at the top of the Is. did... but the rest was very slow. Saturday was good and Friday was great!
Water level was scary low. Usually only see these levels in September. Several boats in the marina were hard aground.
Downstream reports for Saturday and today were unimpressive images/icons/frown.gif. Does not look good for Monday and Tuesday. Gotta try anyway images/icons/rolleyes.gif.
Trying to think positive images/icons/grin.gif

David, we saw many fish caught by the Government Island above 205 on Sunday. The bite was good at first lite and around the tide change at 1pm to 2pm. I boated my first Springer in 4 yrs and let the wild thing go. Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!
What a rush, hope this helps.

John,
images/icons/cool.gif, congrats on the springer. Glad you got to tangle with one. Got out for a couple hours this evening 'till the wind blew most of us off the east side of Sand Island. The bite was a little better this evening. Had two good take downs and that was it. Watched a couple sea lions do better than me images/icons/rolleyes.gif. Watched one chase a fish across the top of the water all around in front of us. We figured the fish lost the battle. Oh, a young girl on the bank did a great job of hooking and landing a fish. She got a round of applause from all of us images/icons/smile.gif.
