I remember the post a few weeks ago about these guy's Just wanted to share my experience. I won a rod at a raffle last year and Thursday during a fight with a nice chinooky that we lost it got broken. Kinda our faulty a steelie rod for kings. Went to woodland to the factory. Rep looked at the rod and informed me that it was a second and showed me how to tell. He could see the look of disappointment on my face so he replaced the second with a second. I was very pleased with his service and politeness. I also purchased another second there that is a little heavier. You can't beat the service that I received.
Brain if you read this sorry that I did not return your page my cell wouldn't work. Rod is replaced and looking forward to doing it again sometime.

Lamiglass Seconds, at the base of the rod by the handle look for two dots or a letter under the coating. Thats how he explained it to me.

Using a Lamiglass Steelhead rod, if you can't find the dots or the letter, test it on a +20 lb. Chinook!!! images/icons/grin.gif This test will leave NO DOUBTS. (SNAP) images/icons/shocked.gif
Can't help myself Dan. images/icons/rolleyes.gif Now that I know you handed me a Steelhead rod for landing an angry large Salmon!!! images/icons/wink.gif
Enjoyed the day and can't wait to do it again, give me a buzz. images/icons/cool.gif

Those 50 lb springers will give a rod a good workout won't they.

I don't know how the seconds handle stress...doesn't look too good...but on my good Lamiglass Steelhead rods, one of them took a 36 lb.er on the Columbia. While I was brawling I was laughing at the resemblance between what my rod looked like versus that Ugly Stick commercial I used to see. Handled it just fine. Now I gotta go see if I paid full price somewhere for a second, since I have way too may of them Lami's!!

You know you are on a fishing BB when the rods get smaller and the fish keeps getting bigger images/icons/grin.gif!
Are you sure that fish didn't come out of the brine bucket images/icons/shocked.gif? images/icons/confused.gif
Maybe you were just taking a new aproach to pulling that #5 anchor images/icons/smile.gif.

My suggestion would be if you don't want to break a rod and have the hassel of getting it replaced sell your Lamisnaps and BUY A LOOMIS images/icons/tongue.gif ..TM

on an average 3% of factory rods that break are warrentee breaks. regardless of the manufacturer, faulty rods are extremely rare. not likely you'll have one in your life time almost all rods break from being misused and abused.
To their credit most companies replace them anyway. So when your rod snaps in an encounter with a chinook dont put so much pressure on the rod that it breaks remember that no rod in the world is meant to bend like that. Actually if you want a rod to abuse i suggest getting a fiberglass rod they are way tougher that graphite..
Not trying to accuse anyone of anything or talking to any particualar circumstance i just know that lots of rod makers get an undeserved bad rap when it comes to rod breakage

Dan, that was probally my post about Lamiglass service that you mentioned above. My beef with Lamiglass was never over the quality or the final outcome of the replacement. It was the fact that the guy over the counter accused me of either slamming my rod in a door or dropping a tackle box on it, which was never the case. The serviceman took a loud and aggresive tone, for no apparent reason, right from the start with me. I don't want to talk about it any further from fear of raising my blood pressure again. images/icons/rolleyes.gif
Short of the story is, I was treated very well by the front office after I emailed them. They assured me that this was not the way they operate and were going to invest more in training their customer service reps.
They took good care of me after this incident. I will continue to use and endorse their products in the future. images/icons/smile.gif
"Lamisnaps"....Good one TM

Ahhhheeemmmm!
The first thing you do is:
Go buy a Loomis!
The second thing you do is:
Burn the Lami second.
The third thing you do is:
Put the fish in the box.
The fourth thing you do is:
Pat yourself on the back for being so smart.
I'd rather be lucky than good! K.F. ><<<">
