For those that were unable to attend the YOUTH FISHING FAIR today it was a great success for the second year in a row. If you have the chance to thank any of these people (all volunteers) listed please do it. Also the organizations that provided many of the fishing products given to the youths. It is the only payment they recieve besides knowing that they made a lot of kids real happy today and passed on some of their fishing knowledge to each and every one of them. Our future fisherman and fisherwoman.

A hugh thumbs up to TVNWS for putting together such a wonderful event. I had the pleasure of helping out for a very short time and it was purely my pleasure. Without such volunteer groups as mentioned by Rauly we would be a much poorer society. It may sound hokey, but those children really are our future.

It was wonderful to see the adults volunteering almost as excited as the young participants. Keep up with the great work you guys and I am looking forward to next year. Kim

Rauly and Kim, Thanks for your help - Grant and I had lots of help from the list of folks on this post. Many more people really provided great support prior to the fair especially in getting the word out on it. I think the kids had a great time, but I had a better time watching them, tying knots, casting, painting fish, fish identification, and learning about the rules. All vendors and volunteers really helped make this a enjoyable event. Kim, we will put you on the list for a booth for Clam Gulch Lodge for next year and helping again with knot tying.

Thanks Tom

I talked my wife and kids in going and we all had a great time. We are looking forward to doing it again next year. I met several people from the board and other Northwest Steelheaders. A great group of people doing a good thing. Good job guys.

Thanks to all who promoted, attended or helped to organize the 2nd annual Youth Fishing Fair. It was truly a grass roots effort and would not work without the entire
fishing community coming together. Giving up the day in light of the Columbia closure on Tuesday is truly a statement of the kind of people that were such a help in putting this event together. It is such a blessing to see the kind of folks willing to help out! A great big thanks to each and everyone of you ! The kids out there are our future and we should all keep this in mind as we try to give something back to the resource. Beginning a true interest in fishing early is the key to preserving our resource in the future.
A quote to ponder..... "It is difficult to talk to people who are not particularly interested in the value of a river" Zane Grey
