Im going to the columbia tommorow morning im a beginner to chinook fishing, and wanted to know what is the most basic bait rig, and what I need?? I will be fishing from the bank somewhere around tanner creek, and just needed a little help rigging up, and any other techniques would be most helpful. Thanks.

Don't know much about tanner creek but,I'll tell you how they where fishing at the dam.About an 18" lead line and about a 21/2-3 ft leader to a spin glow(O size),I'm not sure about the color last time I was up there it was the clown or dark green,I reall think anything will work if you get in front of the fish.I think 25lb line is more then enough but if there is a ton of people up there you might put on 30 or 40lb.You'll just have to watch the others and see how far there casting, that also depends on the rod your useing.I was useing 6 oz. sinkers some where useing 8 oz.But go up there knowing you'll more then likely lose it so take plenty.Good Luck
