Well I just found out that I have May 20th through June 6th off. I should be dialed in on the river the day of the Floatilla.
I have an idea for slight change of plans for the floatilla. For guys that want to target Steelhead you all can do the upper run. And for guys that want to chase springers you all can do a lower run with more chinook water. The take out on the lower run is at Waterloo. There is a really nice county park there. We can set a time for everyone to be at the park for an after fishig BBQ. By doing it this way there will be more available water for fishing. Hows this sound to you guys?

That sounds like a decent enough plan. I thought I would be in Astoria that weekend but plans changed so I might make it. Yall and Os can ride with me. We'll be in the Diamond back with the pink and blue flowers with a supply of ice cold strawberry crush. http://gltdr.org/forums/graphics/emoticons/flower.gif

I am looking forward to doing the run from Jack's place to Waterloo when the springers roll in. Hopefully by the time June comes around, I will be tired of catching those pesky steelhead on the upper run. images/icons/grin.gif

Hey C'N'D --

Those "pesky steelhead" YOU are catching are actually termed "smolts" by most of us in the fishing circle.... Yeah, I know you thought you were really slayin' em too! Just because it is finclipped doesn't mean you can legitimately call it a steelhead when you catch it. Steelhead are actually over 20"....I know it's been awhile for ya images/icons/wink.gif Maybe you need another trip to the "homewaters" to be reminded, heh? images/icons/grin.gif

Damn, those aren't steelhead? I was so excited because the past couple of trips, I must have hooked at least fifty. I thought to myself, what's the big deal with steelhead fishing?...this is easy.

By the way, they aren't smolts, they are "half-pounders". images/icons/grin.gif

I will admit, I do need another trip down to the homewaters. I bet the spawners are really in there thick now!! images/icons/shocked.gif
