View Full Version : What are your favorite hot sauces for Columbia River Lures?
Many different scents and flavors are available for "doctoring" lures. What is working best on Kwickfish in your area?

I caught my first one on a bait wrapped, scented with anise on top, Marie's shrimp scent in the middle, and coated with a Quick spray of Wd40 K 13 Kwikfish.
I caught my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th on a plain, unwrapped, unscented Magnum hotshot.
Go figure.

I recently learned about a common household preparation that contains shark oil. Makes sense as an attractant, right? Salmon eat sharks, right? I haven't used it on a Kwikfish, but I've seen it done.

I've been using smelly jelly's shrimp-anise bait oil but haven't had any luck iwth it yet but I've got 3 days left. Just using what i've got but I know Marie's is much better.

I have tried it all this season, and what has worked best for me is the straight Sardine wrap. I've tried Garlic, shrimp, anchovy, anise, etc. But keeping a fresh bait wrap seems to work the best.

Pro-cure sardine oil on kwikfish.
Injected Pro-cure sandshrimp oil with a light spray of wd40 when using prawns.
