Fished the Columbia on Thursday. We landed seven fish, four nates and three hatches. We were up at Bonneville backtrolling. We lost one and missed a couple bites. Plan to do it again on Monday. RW

got the first keeper springer in the boat today. Figures it would be the guy who went out the first time this year. Wasn't to hot around kalama. Saw 10 keepers all day for about 30 boats. Not exactly hot but it' better than workin

Hi ,Jennie.I fished up by Reed Island yesterday and today,my friend and I both caught one yesterday and he lost two today and I caught one.It seemed a little slower today.I'm positive we saw alot more fish caught yesterday then today. You know it figures the run just starts getting good down here and they shut us down. We're going out tomorrow if its too much of a zoo,I won't go out again untill mon.I'll post if its good or not.see ya .

Spent most of the day at Bonneville, kind of slow, we hooked and landed two, one nate, one keeper for six rods. Fished for the last couple hours at Reed island, saw a few landed, but slow there as well. Way too boats for a Friday. Won't try the weekend, maybe Tuesday. images/icons/rolleyes.gif images/icons/rolleyes.gif

Went out of Covet's Landing Friday. Fished around Pierce Island. Saw a few fish caught but not by us. But then, we don't know what we are doing either.

Fished the area around St Helens with Gizmo Man, RT, and RT's friend Ron. Giz picked up a nice clipped fish and I caught a jack. Saw several other fish caught. Overall I thought it was kinda slow.
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/grin.gif

Hi Jennie,I fished today the 14th,caught two my friend didn't catch any(I gave him one)saw a few caught but it was really very slow for the amount of boats (in front of Reed Island) well over 100.Did see a far larger amount of natives caught then hatchery,at least around where,I was at.Natives 2 to 1. I thought it was very slow. The boat ramp was a total controlled circus,I waited in line for 45 min. to launch my boat everyone was really easy going did not see any proplems. The take out was the same a ZOO but quiet.I'm not going tomorrow,I'll go again mon.& tues. See Ya.

I made it out to the Columbia Saturday for some fishing with a few thousand others. We were below Bonneville. Everything I have read on the board about 12 to 15 feet of water and spinners and quickfish didnt seem to be the hot ticket in our area. I easily saw in excess of 100 fish boated. The hot ticket seemed to be 20 to 40 feet of water. If I was to make a generalization it would be that bait was outfishing quickfish. I saw lots of fish on Prawns or Roe images/icons/shocked.gif
We didnt go prepared to fish those baits. But did manage to boat a fish. Lots of fun just being on the Columbia trying to learn a new fishery. images/icons/smile.gif

Fished the Columbia this morning by Washougal 6:00AM to 1:00PM caught 4 kept 2 for 3 rods, the boat beside us caught 5 kept 4 for 2 rods no one else in our hog line caught fish. Saw 3 boats below us drop out with fish today they were hitting chrome and chartruse kwikfish, and rainbow spinners. Only 2 more days so lets givem @#$& guys it might 24 more years before we get to do it again.

Fished from the bank at Reeder Beach 60 to 70 rods out and not one bite. Plunking is pretty boring if you don't get any takes. Only two days left, got to find a hot bite somewhere. images/icons/confused.gif

FishinBob, I was in 22-24 feet and the other boat was in 32 feet. The boat between us never got a bump. I'll be there again this morning, I'm in the green GIII jon.

Fished above the Sandy on Sunday. Lots of boats! Anchored all over the place like they didn't know what a line looks like. Fishing was real slow compared to the way it has been. Saw maybe five fish caught on chrome/chartruse kwikfish K-14's & 15's. All were out in 26ft of water. Saw several small (8-12#) fish released. They had to be unmarked hatchery fish. Where will all this pressure go on Wednesday after the Columbia closes? Undoubtably to a tributary near you!
