I know I said I had to be patient and wait awhile- but I just couldn't! We fished (3 of us)from 8:30 'till dark and caught about 18 trout- I guess you could call'em trout. They were the skinniest, palest fish I have ever caught. They were light biters and weak fighters to boot. But even with that nice day we had weather -wise  it was better than sittin' home.
Here's what the day looked like- ALL DAY! That was the most continuous hard rain day I have fished in for as long as my short memory goes back!

The water was about this color and the visibility was not that good- a lure 1 foot down would disappear.

And yes that is yellow corn on the back end of that white Needlefish. I laugh at my buddy all the time when he pulls out the secret yellow corn trick- he always gets the last laugh 'cause it works every time for him!
We caught all the fish in the top 5 feet of water (one split shot) and it was slow catching all day. In the afternoon I trolled a black wolly bugger with a 1/4" piece of worm on it- right on the surface, no weight- and did pretty well for an hour or so. We found a small cove that had some fish- we caught maybe 6-8 of our 18 right there. If we hadn't taken all day to stumble across that pattern we would've skipped on down the lake like a Bassmaster looking for more coves!
Here's a couple of the skinny trophies we caught.

The first fish is 14" long- like a snake! The second one is about 12".
Saw LOTS of fish on the finder in the 20-50 ft. range but I never got a hit from any time spent on the downrigger.
I will not fish in murky water ever again. I will not fish in murky water ever again.I will not fish in murky water ever again. I will not fish in murky water ever again.I will not fish in murky water ever again. I will not fish in murky water ever again.:help:
