So, lately when I read the Hagg reports they sound a little discouraging. I've been waiting to get out and fish it and probably will this weekend. I was curious if anybody has been catching any fish this week.

Friend of mine called today and in two days out there only caught a couple of trout. Doesn't sound good! Funny how some people do good out there and most don't do well at all. I'm sure there's a way to be productive out there but I haven't figured it out.

I went out Sunday; caught 1 trout between me and a friend in a canoe. Tried everything - caught it on a spinner. Fished from 7:45 to 12:30, then we came in and drove over to the dam and fished off the rocks for bass, didn't even have a bite. Pretty slow.
Probably another few weeks for the bass to warm up. As for the trout, I have no clue whats going on. I might wait for them to stock it again before I go back.
It was really nice weather for fishing though. Maybe the water will warm up sooner if it stays nice and sunny.

I was also out there Sunday, 3/18, and sorry to say I had the same experience as most others have reported. Not a single bite. I curse that lake sometimes. If it weren't for the sheer numbers and quality fish in that lake, I may never go back. I too can't seem to find a pattern there. Good luck to you and report back.

Fished Hagg on Tuesday. Trolling was still spotty at best. We picked up three limits of stockers. The fish were caught just outside the Tanner arm or along the dam. Pulled light lures and flies just under the surface. Surface temp was 51.9 degrees. Should continue to get better as the water warms.:)

The wife and I may sneak out for a few hours Sunday. We didn't do well last Sunday (the wife caught one stocker), but we still enjoy getting out. Will post a report if we get out.

When we were out last Sunday, they didn't have the line separating the the no wake zone. Has the rule changed? Lots of people were on step at both ends of the lake.

I don't fish it much at all but power bait under a bobber has always been good for me.

I took a couple of Boy Scouts fishing on Sunday, 3/25. Fished Boat Ramp C side of Sain Creek arm. Skunked. Fished about 2 hours. Not much pressure - only one stocker caught. Quite of few boats working the arm - didn't see much action. I had some very soft bumps on chartreuse power bait on 24" leader - but they didn't take. Quite surprisingly dead  . Some nice pics of brood stock trout taken recently from the bank at the store - white power bait was the hot bait according to the owner. Of course, they were sold out of white power bait :frown: .

Was there yesterday from 11:30-2pm - worst time possible, right during the trouts' siesta. Oh well, I had two little girls in the boat and schedule was based on them this time. We did manage to break in my daughter's new purple rod with a little hatchery rainbow. And we had another rod bounce once but that was it. The only fish I marked were tight to the bank (in less than 10' of water) or 20' down in the deep water out in the middle of the lake.

PS Props to Trollin4trout - my daughter's fish was caught on a rainbow needlefish with 2 splits about 3' up. This setup was easy to troll in the shallow water.

Hagg is fishing lousy. It needs some more sun. Come late April and May it will be a no brainer. Rooster tails with a little piece of worm or a chunk of power bait mashed around the treble and you are golden. Give it a few weeks. Unless you are a bass expert which I am not. :smirk:
