New (To me) Honda Kicker w/ Troll Master

Seems like I have waited forever for the right deal on a kicker, and I finally found one. Just put on a '91 Honda 8 that came with a Troll Master Pro to boot. I installed the motor, and from a few suggestions on this site, installed my remote steering bracket/bar to the main. I am really pleased with the whole deal. I really wanted to just give a general "Thanks" to the ifish community, all of my ideas came from this site. As well as thanks to Two Ducks for the great Motor!!!

Like your remote steering bar. How long of a rod did you start with? Wish to do the same on my 21' SR.

Well....I started with 24"....that came with the stearns outfit....I might have to go to a 36" bar though....I'm still fishing around with the physics.....so, far the 24" gets me full turns, but when I go full right...the kicker swings to a point where the bar can't push it back ( going left)....I'm gonna keep on playing with the bend...to see if I can fine tune it.....FYI, If you need a longer bar than the 24"...I found some 26 " SS threaded rods at home depot....good luck!

You might give this a try. I think you need to get as stright a push from your Main motor to the kicker as possible. A couple 45 degree bends in your connecting rod should do the trick. I tried doing a diagram but it's not working. Just imagine the straight line and the word 'Kicker' extended to the right below and you'll get the idea. (It looked right when I typed it in the reply box but it didn't come out that way in the post.)
