I think I'll give it a try myself tomorrow. I won't be buying a permit so I won't be in the Metolious arm- I'll have to make do with the rest of the lake. I'll head for the dam in the morning and explore that area until I'm convinced I can't catch anything there! After that I'll just follow the fishfinder around until I find some kokanee to fish under.

Say hello if you see me- 16ft Smokercraft Lodge, black top,Ifish stickers.

Looks like a great day weatherwise- good luck to all! Jim

The dam is in the metolious arm, you may want to buy the one day permit for $9.00. That's what I'm gonna due for Saturday.:smash:

Actually the area out in front of the dam itself is open all year. No permit required.

Metolius Arm (tribal water):

East Boundary - a line running from the west abutment of Round Butte Dam to the southern land point where the and Metolius arms intersect.

Don't know if you made it to LBC or not yesterday. Friend and I fished high up Metolious Arm for some Bulls. No luck. One grabbed my offering about 3 feet below the surface as I was reeling in to change. It "looked" to be close to the legal range or more. Went down to the island to just "see" what was going on. Spotted several schools of kokes. Threw on some corn on buzz bombs and jigged for a few minutes. Caught 1 slim and slimy 11 incher. Probably could have caught serveral more, but wind came up and thought we had better leave.

Yes, I read this and that's why I thought I could fish there. But, when I was trolling on the east side towards the dam, I came upon a sign on the bank that said "No unauthorized boats beyond this point". Now that couldn't be any more vague I thought to myself. So then I turned across towards the west side to eyeball the East Boundary line. That actually leaves a very narrow channel at one spot between the west bank. And who's gonna decide if I'm over the line- what if I turn my back to adjust a downrigger and the wind blows me towards the west side- over "the line"?
At that point it became not worth it to keep worrying about it. I turned tail and ran away!
