Hey all, 3 of us are heading over for Bull trout at LBC Next weekend. We mainly plan on fishing on Saturday, 3-24. I have never hooked in to a bull trout, but am fairly confident in what to use (thanks in large part to this board). We'd REALLY like to hook in to something. Not to worry, we wil be catching and releasing. I have downriggers, so my question to all of you (specifically you Fish-on-Bend and other LBC geniuses:bowdown: ) is, what general depth are you guys targeting? I know it varies because they are under the koke schools, but, really I have no idea where to begin. Any info you could share would be greatly appreciated. A reply post or a PM would be great. Just looking for any tips to maybe help us hook in to one or two....

We'll be in the brown 88 Hewescraft SeaRunner with the ifish sticker. Swing by and saw Hi. Thanks again.

I am headed to LBC this weekend. I will post a report on Sunday when I get back. I have been to the lake twice this year and had a tough times both trips. I have read that around the island has been a good place to start. Also out in front of the dam was good for hookjawfreak earlier this year.

I talked to a buddy who fished it yesterday and he did great around the island in 20 ft of water. 4 fish from 5 to 9.5 pounds in a half day on the water. He was flatlining kokanee-like plugs. I would recommend the original style AC Plugs 7 inch black and silver. The #18 (yes, #18!) Magnum Rapala has been a great lure on the bulls, too. It can run over 30 ft deep on a long line. :twocents:

I've only fished there for bulls once couple weeks ago, but fish for macks alot ... somtimes it varies.. on sunshine overcast ...and alot of other things... main thing todo is stay near the Kokes and exspeariment with depth and tackle..And the main thing is just to HAVE FUN!

O ya make sure your depthfinder's fish Id is off!!! way easier to tell a big fish from little ish if you get used to looking at arches!!! Very important!!!!! that will make it easier to target the bigger fish! lots of people make rhis mistake!

GOOD LUCK!! Don't forget your camara!
