I fished with Captain J today and it was a blast! He is SO awesome to fish with!
I blew it, or my hook did, but I had two great take downs. One totally gone by the time I grabbed the rod and one that burnt my thumb! WHEE! It was so awesome! It was on, then I thought it was gone, then on then gone!
It was one hot fish! It ran all over the dang place! It was running clear up to the anchored boat ahead of me, so I thumbed it, burnt my thumb, finally slowed it down by releasing ANY pressure, and then POP!
Bent hook!
I love those K13s!!!! I think it helped, I really do!
I'm going to catch a SPRINGER THIS WEEK!!!!

It was here, then there, then here, then long runs, and then he'd come at me, and Id reel reel reel, and then he'd hit.. I bet that fish was BIG!

Congrats on the springer action Jen! This is the time of year I always look forward to, and the action has been pretty darn good for me the last couple days as well.

As for Captain J, you're right he is a great guy to fish with, and very knowledgable.

Hey Jen, You did a great job today, burned thumb and all. I got an email when I got home from a buddy who fished downriver from us. According to him, 12 fish to the boat and 8 keepers. Now I'm bummed. He didnt give location (I probably wouldnt either), so makes me wonder. Could have been in that group of gillnet boats. Oh well. A great day anyway when one fishes with good friends.
