There were a dozen boats at the oak tree today. Another 3 dozen at the shad rack. Another dozen or so boats down below that. What a zoo at the Fishery sluice/ramp; how many times can you hit the wall with your trailer before your boat hits the water? There must have been 50 bankies on both sides of the river. Fishing was pretty spotty. We saw one on the bank, maybe a half dozen to the boats.
One unpleasant note: a notable Gorge sturgeon guide has taken to fouling the Fishery ramp with sturgeon carcasses. There were probably 25 fish, stripped of their filets. The ODFW guy knew who did it, but didn't think it was illegal - just immoral and objectionable. If you need a sturgeon guide you might think twice before booking on the big light green boat.
