Jake's Spin-a-lure

I just finished reading a book on spin fishing. The authors listed some of their favorite lures and Jake's spin-a-lure was one of their top producers. Does anyone fish them and find them that productive?

I don't use them myself, they are close cousin to the Cripplelure and Superduper, they must be productive on the right day and presentation.
