What ever you do...don't miss out on fishing this run of fish!! Had double doubles today! To much fun and craziness for this guy!!

Keep your hooks sharp and if you have to hang on to your rod ( I don't advise it) do not set on the first tap!!

Karen...Springers are good biters...I like bait but I know that is in short supply. Kwikfish, wiggle warts, spinners...have gotten them on everything...just get out there focus on 10-25 feet of water and have some fun!!

Thanks Jim. I'm thinking of picking up some hearing but I'm confused by the colors. I here yellow and green are the stuff. Whats the difference? images/icons/cool.gif

Hi Karen,

The size is the difference. Use yellow label if you are fishing whole herring. If
you fish plug cut, then use green label.
Good luck. images/icons/grin.gif

Thanks Jawbreaker, all the info helps. I've plug cut hearing for silvers. I've heard their are different angle cuts for silvers vs. chinook. Is there something to this, and does it apply the same in the Columbia, The M. channel and O.C. images/icons/smile.gif

Fish and Karen,
Running late this morning but here we go quickly...as far as herring goes...use what you can find!!! images/icons/tongue.gif I have always liked whole herring for Kings or Silvers, you need to make sure that it "swims" erratically through the water as you troll...I do not believe it has to spin (my opinion). We have and will continue to catch fish on herring of course, Kwikfish, WiggleWarts, spinners. You have a choice to hogline or not on the outgoing, I personally do not like to be sitting and waiting so it is not a technique I like, plus professionally it doesn't feel right unless we are eating lunch, but it is a very effective way to fish. At this point of the season you can pretty much follow the boats and keep you eyes open for nets!!

Above all, have fun, be courteous, and learn all you can from watching the folks who are catching fish. Oh, don't forget the scents, squid oil has at times outproduced all others.

Enjoy and get one for the BBQ!!

Just reread....where has been basically from Longview down, when early am for Kings always and then I like low slack and incoming best...ok think that covers it images/icons/cool.gif
