Today Im starting a 5 day fishing bender. This afternoon I start by pumping a weeks supply of sandshrimp and then trying for some perch at the coast. The rest of the week I m chasing Steelhead. There are a lot of winters available and a few summers poking around.
If the steelhead dont wanna play, I heard some really good reports on stripers down south.

I just got back from 4 days up onthe Oly. Pen w/ Major Brown. What a week, weather was fair, Ok it was terrible, but the fishing was great. Hit the Hoh, the Duc,and the Boggey. Demo'd a few different things, and learned a few tricks... can't beat that!

Hey chuck,
Either way you go you should get fish. If you have a boat the santiams have summers and winters. I havent heard any reports on the Siletz lately.

Today was kinda slow on the fishing part. We got about a dozen greenlings off the rocks at Newport.
Tommorrow is steelie time!

I don't have the luxury of five days like you willierower, but I should manage two or three of the next five days on the river. I just pumped a large quantity of shrimp yesterday for feeding the steelies. Don't know whether to go for broodstock and nates or for summers. Tomorrows the day, so I will have to make up my mind soon. I think I am leaning towards embarking on the first summer steelie trip of the year.

Let me know where you go and how you fair. Will do the same.

Ok fsh4play, this is now the ol' lady speaking! I see how ya are.
After I busted my arse out pumping all those "goodies", and it cut way into my perch fishing time mind you, the least you could have done was have dinner waiting for me!!
Well Im off to hit the river since I managed to save a few sandshrimp for myself, so hope to see ya out there!

Well, the steelhead and I are not getting along too well. In 2 days my boat has went 1 for 3. The fish we did land was a chromer summer. Ol' fsh4play is doing a little better. Today they kept 3 hawg summers. Well I have 2 more days left. Hopefully the fish decide to play.

Hey chuck n duck, the only heavy flow on the santiams is the fish images/icons/grin.gif On my bender this week I did 4 trips on the North and went 13 for 21, five of those being summers. Get after them with every other person in the valley, the time is now. Good fishing images/icons/grin.gif

Decided to go with winters since the flow on the Santiam is a bit heavy. Bad idea. Had one come unpinned after a solid takedown, but that was it. Way too slow for this time of year.

Heavy flow or not, it is time to switch to summers.

Willierower, how high have you been floating? I will be out there this weekend, but am not sure which stretch I am going float yet.
