Snow melt keeps the river up and running

The rivers have been full of water this week making for some challenging fishing conditions. Higher water has been the norm on the larger streams, but the clarity has been do-able. The steelhead are there in good #s but the bite seems to drop off a bit with the slightest rise. I am hoping that the coming rain doesn't amount to much.

Large, brightly colored lures/baits, side drifted have been working best. A quarter size yarn ball with some scent on a short leader keeps it in the strike zone. Late last week we had some double digit days and early this week was good too. Alot of natives have been captured for the broodstock program in recent days.
