I am getting ready to put new carpet in my Glasspar.
What is the best way to glue down the carpet to the deck?

I was at home depot looking at carpet , not for the inside of a boat, but for the trailer runners, they had quite an assortment of outdoor carpet, and the prices were reasonable, I got a quote on a 6'x12' for about 35 bucks

There are several fiberglass to carpet glues on the market. I my self go to the industrial carpet guy who delivers entry carpets to the plants and office buildings and buy 6 or 7 4x8. they are rubber on the bottom for no skid and you can take them out and power wash the TUNA blood off and put them back:yay: Can usually get 8 for $40-$50

I used indoor/carpet glue from Home depot the specified water proof after curing and it worked fine. One problem I had was to much glue applied. Because I thought a little is good a lot will be great. What happened was ever where I set my knee or put my hand down to regain my balance it would soak through the carpet and leave a white mark. Use toothed trowel that is suggests on directions and stick to it. I would have several pair of latex gloves handy so you can transition from gluing to laying cleanly. Good luck it is a little tricky working in such a confined area.

Also be careful of proper ventilation in such a confined area. It can be deadly if you're not careful.

I found that out when I layed the fiberglass on the new deck sections. Talk about a headache. Half my face was numb. My wife politely informed me, that is why it is called a numbskull.

I picked up some carpet at the Depot today for 39 bucks. They recommended the indoor outdoor glue with a trowel. Got all that and am almost ready to tackle the task. I even got a respirator. Ok so I'm a little slow.

Thanx for all the replies.
