Can a Yamaha T8 long shft be converted to a extra long shaft??

Yes call Clemens Marine I wasa going to have them put one on my boat but did not need it.

Yeh...it can be done...I was gonna do it to mine a s well but decided on another motor instead....financial reason.

Ya I had Browns Landing do it for me. They were really quick turn around and alot cheaper than clemens or any one else. there sevice department is great really informative and helped me with other questions I had

How new is your motor because it might be worth just trading in you old motor for and extra long

Its a 2001. Probably would be better to trade it in on a extra long shaft.

I just called Browns landing and Clemems Marina both places told me there is not a kit. Browns landing stated that you could buy all the parts to convert but it would push up to around $800. I am interested to do this if its cheaper but it doesnt see so to me.

I too have had the same experience with the extension kit. I ended up just selling the older one and getting a new extra long shaft.
