I was just wondering about lakes or ponds around Corvallis that I could take my girlfriend to and get her into some trout fishing. I know that Green Peter is pretty close, but if you have any suggestions I'd love to know about them, and if you want to keep it private please PM me. I'm always going steelhead fishing and she wants to get into it, but I thought I'd start her our with trout to gain appreciation for fishing. Let me know you have any suggestions! We'll be bank fishing. Thanks!

You might give Junction City Pond a try, AI. There's usually some nice brood rainbows available there too.

If she out-fishes you she'll be hooked on fishing (and you) for life! Good Luck!

EE Wilson...Its the "Pet" pond of ODFW. Lots of different types of fish in it.

I'll also second that there is no fee for E.E. but you do have to fill out a "permit".

Is there anywhere to find out more information on what they're doing with E.E.?

I even heard that at one point there was talk of a fishing dock going in.

Foster Lake in sweet home is a nice place to go.
The south side of the lake has use to have picnic tables setup.

So you can really turn it into more than a fishing trip and score some points.

I forgot to mention in my other post, there are plenty of trout in the Willamette. Crystal Lake/Willamette parks are good if you want a small hike, Michael's Landing is easy to get to and plenty of shore access, and my favorite is downtown by the skate park. My user picture with the smallie is under the bridge right there, and I've seen BIG fish further down by the where the Marys river enters the Willamette.

I love having such good fishing so close to OSU, it makes it possible to sneak away from campus and get a little fishing in between classes. :)

Thanks a lot for your input and help. Hopefully I'll get her into some trout or bass.
