I have been looking at all the great info on here, and got on Ebay and bought a bunch of 2.5" hoochies. Now, how do you guys rig them for Kokanee? single treble or double hooks? Any info would be great. Thanks ahead of time.:help:

There are many different way to tie-up hoochies. This is the way that I do it at this time. I like to use stack beads to get the proper spacing of the hooks. Additional beads can be added to drop the hooks back from the back of the hoochie. Glow beads can also be added to for a little extra spice. The hook spacing can also be adjusted to find the right distance that will work for you. With fish that are striking short I like to hang the back hook further from the first.
I have been reading that lots of fishermen from California use coffee stirrers instead of beads. They like all the different fluorescent colors available. Below is a series of photos that hopefully will show what I am referring to.

That's basicly the way I do it too. I know a lot of guys down here use the coffee stirs but beads have worked just fine so why mess with it?

I do the same as FRG but use luminescent corkies.

Fishing beads or beads of any type are tough to come by where I live. I use a bobber stopper knot and one of the hootchie body inserts for rigs like that. -FF

Bead of appropriate color to go with the hoochie color goes on first.
Then a small corkie above that.... which goes into the head of the hoochie.
I like the idea of a corkie, which gives some added floatation.
Of course at 40 to 80 feet down at around 1.2 mph....who needs floatation?
Tip for this year.....UV hoochies.

FRG: Nice pics of the rigging.
I still want to hook up with you. Once I get my back surgery over and I am well I am planning on heading your way for a week or two of fishing.

Giz,
I hope the surgery goes well. Let me know when you head over and will get out to wet a line or two.

Great information from all of you. Thanks a bunch. This is what makes this place so nice. Great people willing to share a ton of information. Just got my ten dozen little hoochies in all different colors and am going to start tying things up. Got to get up to LBC and give it all a try. Thanks again to all.
