REALLY want to go to lake billy chinook on Saturday to fish for BULLS, looks like weather could really be nasty up there on saturday, it says 14mh winds a rain and snow showers...

14mph winds at LBC... does that turn that lake into small craft advisory situation? or is that not so bad for that lake?

Rain is not a problem!

just want to do something on Saturday!

could Merwin be any good this time of year?

just looking for any help or suggestions on where I might go!

Desperately want to go some where?

14 mph on Billy can be nasty. If it is a steady south wind the Crooked river arm can be dangerous. I almost sunk a 17 foot Smokercraft there on New Years day 2006. The winds can swirl and beat you up where the Crooked and Metolius come together. It can also be nasty and lay back down at noon. I blew off a day because of high wind forecasts and it turned out to be flat. The canyon effect can protect you and act as a wind tunnel. The Deschutes arm has a ptotected launch and you can get bulls there without having to go out in the other arms, it is the most protected arm. Just pay attention if you go out there.

Not only can the wind increase safety issues it also makes it very difficult to troll on the Crooked River Arm. Be safe. :twocents:
