Trolling needle fish or wedding ring behind a small ford fender or similar flasher.

For those fishing recently-stocked trout (18,000 legals and 120 broodstock were planted Monday this week), keep in mind the trout have been held in shallow concrete 'ponds.' Entering water deeper than a few feet causes them discomfort; their swim bladder is unaccustomed to the pressure. It takes a couple of weeks for them to venture into the depths. They'll be in the shallows for a while.

Another habit of stocked trout is traveling in schools around the circumference of the lake. This is why there are flurries of activity in various areas throughout the day.

When fishing recently-planted trout, Power-Baiters will often do best.

Hope this is of some help.

I went last year right after it opened and could not keep the trout off of my plastic curly tail worms while fishing for bass.

we catch our limit with powerbait usually in about an hour after this opening stocking. those brooders are fun. the ODFW news announcement said that they were 18-20lbs:shocked:

Is the Derby set up at both ramps?

The derby is only at boat ramp C and it is free to anyone. I've done it the past 2 years and it can get a little crazy with all the people, but still a fun time for kids.
