Anyone hit up the high lakes in washington, like in the north cascades, or just up outside of leavenworth near stevens pass. I have been hiking and fishing these lakes for the last 18 years, and just am wondering if anyone that i have seen on the trails uses this website or not. If so, would love to trade some stories, and possibly trade some lakes. Some of the best fishing in my life has been in the high lakes. For a teaser, a lake that i fished 2 years ago, 3 people in our crew, 2.5 days of fishing, we caught 570 fish. I know, first thing you think is fishermans tale, but I swear to you, best fishing ever. Lets share some stories.

clydes46,
There are some great hiking lakes around Mt. St. Helens down in your area. I went on a 4 day trip to fish about 3 different lakes up there. The fishing was great and the scenery was amazing. Most of the hikes around around 3-4 miles into the lakes, there are some shorter hikes as well as some longer hikes. The area does get hit pretty hard so the best bet would be to go mid-week if you can. We fished with a bubble and fly, small spinners and small spoons. Most of the lakes are small and easy to fish, we take small one man rubber rafts with us and it makes it easier to fish. You can go to the local park ranger office and they will have all the maps you need, and will show you where all the trail heads are, you could also give them a call. The best time to hit those lakes is after the 4th of july, that will give enough time for the snow to melt and fish to get active. Good luck
