Im looking into getting a new boat this spring. The Outback by Motion Marine caught my eye at the boat show. I like the idea of the extra 5 sq. feet of boat space. Anyone out there have one or been in one? Does the motor(platform) hinder you whne fighting a fish? Any response good or bad would be appreciated! images/icons/smile.gif

I have a 20' mojet sx it has a livewell
platform on the back. it's like a outback.
i'm very happy w/the boat and the way it performs.
ps: it also catches fish. pat

I don't think it's much different than fishin out an outboard. The Outback does stick out about 3 feet from the transom to the pump guard. I don't think it would be in the way too much. Give me a month and I'll tell you what I think. That's when mine is due!

Maybe Jerry will chime in, he has a 20 fishing machine.

I have owned several boats in my time and I feel that nothing performs as well as the outback. The platform does not get in the way at all...
If you would like to go for a ride send me an e-mail and lets go fishing... images/icons/shocked.gif this is the face my friend's make going over the Columbia bar

I picked up my outback last Sept. no problem fighting a fish in fact if your brave enough like Chromer you can stand on the motor cover when fighting a fish, be sure to look out for wakes from other boats when doing this or you could go for a swim with the fish images/icons/grin.gif Really like the boat.

I think the "outback" also can be powered by a V-6 or V-8 small block. The motor box would obviously be bigger.

That one was for you boater! images/icons/wink.gif images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/tongue.gif

boater, it is quite obvious by your posts that you never have a clue what you are talking about...

Jerry, go to boaters profile and use the "ignore user" function. I'm headed there now. Some of the back and forth banter was fun but boater thinks now that RT is no longer moderating we all want to continue to hear him post the same stuff over and over. I have a hunch that Jerry has more boat knowledge in his big toe than our woolridge-challenged friend. Bye Boater
