Hey...anybody out there in Ifish land use all trebles instead of singles on your mooching rigs??? After losing one too many fish on single hooks.....I tried and experimented with trebles instead of singles. I can still get the "Killer" roll on my red label whole herring.....just waiting for that first fish to clamp down on my herring to see if it'll work. I'm tellin' ya.....that setup looks like a "Done Deal" for the first hungry springer!!! I'll keep y'all posted if it works. Along with how I'm doing it. images/icons/wink.gif

I've kinda tried what you are doing. I did a standard 2 hook mooching rig and then tied a little loop out of dacron - about the size of a half dollar. I ran the loop through a treble and back over itself to connect the treble to it and then I hitched the loop onto the bend in the hook on the bottom hook on the mooching rig. This gives you two single hooks on the mooching rig and a third "treble trailer" hook. I found that I had better hook sets with a three hook solid tie mooching rig with 5/0 gamakatsu hooks than with the treble trailer. However, most of the Rogue fish are hooked on treble hooks and landed in swift water, so it just kind of depends. Your rig sounds good - hope you are using big enough treble hooks because I've straightened a lot of them out on Kwikfish on Salmon. Good Luck and let us know if your hookup rate increases.

Thanx Killer ..I'm only using two trebles...same size I use on my Tillamook spinners. Bottom one is stationary, top is a slider. I'm a bit concerned if putting a trailer would ruin the action on my herring. Those that know me can testify to my "killer roll". I certainly don't wanna lose that roll, 'cause the fish really like it!! Watch for updates on this post regarding my success!!
