No, but I caught a 16 inch trout at silver lake that had a perfectly intact 4" perch in the belly. I ate the trout but couldn't stomach eating the perch. I kept the perch in my freezer to show my buddies.

Hey S.F.
How bout this...I was fishing Kress Lake and a group of ducklings were swimming next to our Aqua-Pod and "something" came up and took one of the ducklings under water. Must of been a Loch-Ness! All joking aside...I really think it was a bass that pulled the little duckling under. Am I just wishfull thinking that there is a bass in that lake that is capable or should I go have a drink and tell my story to someone else????...:)

In Lake Mead in southern NV, they used to stock 8" rainbows near the Hoover dam, and when they opened up the trucks, it was like ringing the dinner bell for the big Striped Bass in the lake, for one if you caught a trout the stripers would steal it, so what we did was throw out huge rapalla trout likeness lures out with 30 lb line. It was nuts, water boiling, fish jumping out all over for thier life, and a lot of fun, yet somewhat stupid wasting all those resources there.
The div of forest and wild life would tell you where and when they were stocking before hand, and every knew none of those trout were going to last more than a day because of the stripers. The early 80s wwas they hayday in that lake, but the stripers eventually ate everything in the lake and ruined the fishery. Not sure if its come back at all.

For real???? I thought I was crazy but I REALLY believe it was a bass that pulled the little duck down. The biggest bass the I have pulled out of that tiny lake is 2# or smaller. I guess I'll have to keep trying!

Kress lake is around 30 acres. I think a big bass will come out of the little lake. It seems more people fish it for trout and don't focus on the bass. Small boats with electric or no motors is all that is allowed.

I'm a believer. I have a friend, who is a very accomplished flyfisherman and is not given to telling crazy fish stories, tell me a very similar story once. He was fishing up at Miller Lake and he watched a couple of HUGE brown trout eat and entire family (about 5 or 6) of ducklings!!! Crazy.

doesnt surprise me at all....... i grew up fishing my grandfathers farm of about 1 and 1/2 acres the place was full of bass, my biggest was a 8 1/2#er, one evening i had the biggest bullfrog i had ever seen jump out in front of me, the size that would eat a duckling itself. it didnt make it 10ft off shore when all heck broke loose and the frog was gone! being right before dark and the sun was setting i couldnt see the fish but it had to be big. those bass will eat just about anything and hense the name largemouth.

At Odell, I had a Kokanee on and a Mac grabbed it. The fight lasted about 5 min. and the Mac. finally let go. I did get the Kokanee. It was a little beat up, but very eatable!!

You've convinced me....I'll spend a couple more days on that lake this year. Plus, its closer than Silver and I recently picked up a little livingston that will get me to where I need to be.

Maybe a Musky that escaped? I could see that. Would have to be a pretty big bass.
