If you want to catch some fish, you better be on the Wilson River this weekend! I fished this morning from the bank and had 6 fish on, landed 4. I only fished 2 different holes, but I imagine they all must be loaded with steelies! I'll be back at it tomorrow

Better luck than us too. I fished with Bigstew on the Wilson today. We each hooked only one fish; I lost mine and 'Stew landed a big beauty (he may post a pic later). We talked to other anglers there this afternoon that weren't getting any fish today. Really suprising considering the recent freshet and nice water conditions today. There was more pressure today than I've seen on all the nates trips combined on the Wilson in recent weeks. Couldn't fish some fav holes. But I guess the fish were all stacked in the 2 holes Big ****** fished anyway. images/icons/frown.gif - RT

I saw the **** with 3 on today in about an hour, all landed, so he is not yanking us. Also saw Fubby Stucker with aBIG fish on. Not landed, but plenty of acrobatics. The **** was secretive about what he was using. When I walked up, he threw it in the river, and there it stayed until I left. Like I would have looked **** images/icons/grin.gif . Good job you two. images/icons/smile.gif

I'll tell you what I use spooled and I've been hooking fish on the Wilson too. Stlhdr is without peer when it comes to fishing the Wilson and while he won't tell you where he fishes he will gladly show you what he uses and so will RT. What's the big secret thing? I've never understood that mentallity among fishermen. images/icons/rolleyes.gif

Yeah --- I know I should've shown you my set-up, maybe next time ok??? I can't believe Fubby lost that fish, it was a hot fish that probably would have gone 15lb+, but I think he got nervous and tried to horse it into the net.. LOL .. (we have to give him crap about it).. See you on the river soon!!!!!

bigstew. I don't know Bigpimpin, just met him today. I do know Fubby Stucker though. I have no problem with someone who is secretive about what they are using. People work years to find an edge. Not that it is a contest, just a pride thing I guess. I would guess most people on this board have a so called secret to fishing success that they don't share with everyone. You are right about where to fish being important, but so are other factors, with tackle being one of them. Obviously, this guy is dialed into the Wilson at this particular moment, and I hope he has continued success. Things change fast, and if you don't take advantage when you have it, it will be someone elses turn soon. I have been doing well myself, and can appreciate how rare multiple fish days can be.

I can't believe you guys didn't nail them on the lower river. I thought for sure you would do real well. (maybe it was because you weren't using the "secret set-up") I'll except VISA, Mastercard, Personal Checks, and of course cash! Highest bidder wins my secret!
hahahahahaha
Cuz ****** aint easy!!!!!!!!
I love it Big ******!

Hi Big ******. No, I don'y live in Tillamook, I live in Tigard. I don't think I have ever seen you until yesterday, but you may have seen me sometime. I don't fish the Wilson a lot, just seemed to be the place to go for a little bank fishing. I have a drift boat, maybe we can get out sometime. Bring that secret whatever it was you were using so I can get a look at it, and post it here images/icons/shocked.gif. Nice talking to you yesterday, and hope you have continued success.

When I take somebody new fishing to my spot, I always drive and its before daylight. I'll go the long way and drive in circles, to make it harder for the person to know where we are at. Then, when we are ready to leave, I make them wear a blind fold to keep my secret in tact. It works both ways... I keep my secret, and they catch fish.

I know the Wilson River like my backyard.....every nook and cranny. I remember when if you didn't hook 10 fish it was a poor day. I am willing to bet I know where you're "spot" is ****. There are fish in every hole on the river. I have hooked 6 fish one day and the next day in the same general area get nothing. Who knows. Lets get together and compare notes. I am willing to try something new!!!!!!!!!! I will be fishing this weekend if you or anyone else wants to go.Troy give me a call~ John

I love catching fish when nobody else is catching fish! I don't mind telling people what river I'm fishing, because there are fish everywhere in the river. I'll fish any hole on the river and catch fish. It's a great feeling knowing that you are tuned in to that area!
Got to love the Wilson River!
