This afternoon I spend a few yours at the punchbowl (Kelly point) and one in the cable hole (lower Hayden Isle Channel) with fresh Cowlets smelt...absolutely NO bite at all. I saw ONE shaker taken all afternoon by another boat.

I've NEVER seen sturgeon fishing so slow, especially with such good bait. I suspect it is due in part to low river flow; today the water was flowing backwards through the Hayden Isle channel all the way up until 5:00..incoming tide until 3:30, ...but still!???

Tomorrow I go after Mr. Spottytail instead..anyone got any hot reports? Coon Isle? 205 Bridge? Mouth of the slough?

Thanks!
DC

Was fishing T-6 on the evening of the 8th. Were landed 5 keepers and many just short in the 3 hours we fished. One was a fat 51" and the other we kept was anothe fat 44". There has been a lot of keepers coming out of the area for the past couple of weeks. Last trip(also a short one) we landed 1 keeper and many of the other boats close by were limited out. I'm sure if we had been there longer we would have also.

So sorry DC, keep the day job. We spent all morning rolling herring to no effect. Larsons, Channel mouth, Frenchmens bar. No Feesh seen, no net dance, no joy in mudville. Then we went to our favorite gator hole.

I guess it was pretty slow when we rolled up. The boat hit the end of the anchor line about the same time my bait hit the bottom of the river. 30 seconds later and a 43" sturgeon took it down. He went on the rope and people in adjacent boats began to wake up. 15 minutes and a beer or two later a 56" fish took off straight down the line of boats just peelin line off to finish the wake up call. We had 5 or 6 boats and a gator on at once. About that time the tide stopped running out and all the boats in the line went cockeyed. Fish on over.

Another sturgeon clinic held at the 'Church of the Bent Rod'

All is forgiven, welcome back brother. At least that's the message I took home today.

The bend is your friend!!

Fished Sturgeon Sunday, Columbia City, Mouth of the Lewis, #6 & #13, only had three fish to the boat all day, got lucky, two were keepers, one 44 and fat and one 42 and really fat. When we cleaned the fish, we opened the stomach of the 42" fatty and found six whole smelt!!! No wonder the bite was slowwwwww!

I've never fished T-6 (which I assume is Terminal 6). Where do you fish there and where do you put your boat in when fishing T-6?

"jfia" where's the hot spot you guys were fishing? :-)
