Hey fellas, I'm heading up to Sportco this afternoon after work to pick up a pyramid anchor for my Cat. What size do y'all recommend? I was thinking of a 20#
The cat is 13 feet long.
Also they are having a pretty big sale going on until the 1st of April and I was going to pick up a 100qt coleman cooler. Is $38.88 a good price for a 100qt? and is that big enough for salmon, etc....granted I drink all of the beer out of the cooler first?

If it isnt an igloo cooler, just plan on draining the melted ice and restocking with fresh ice twice a day. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I think an igloo playmate should hold all your fish. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif Would probably hold all the beer you could drink also.
My drift boat anchor is 35 pounds. I dont think your ferile kitty would pull as hard as a driftboat when anchored. My 35 pounder usually sticks when it hits bottom.

Hey-Yall, I bought a 30 lb. anchor for my 13' raft and I wish I'd bought a smaller one. 20 lb. would be about right.
Since they no longer make Gott coolers, the best ones are MARINE Igloos. A 94 qt. is about $130.00, a 128 qt. is $200.00. They'll hold ice for a 3 day float and more.

Hey Bait. I'm with you on the 35lb for a driftboat. I always used 30's and this fall picked up a 35lb and will never go back. That extra 5 makes a big difference.
Hey_yall...A 13ft cat? 20lb should do it. You want that baby to stop when you drop it not 2 miles down river. Did it come with a parking brake? http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I use a 40lb pyramid as a stern anchor on my 22' North River. It keeps it from swaying pretty good, but in a strong wind it doesn't do much good - which suprises me. I think 100 qt. is a little small for salmon - definitely too small for sturgeon. I have a 150 qt Coleman that works great - holds 8-10 nice salmon or about 5 sturgeon. However, it probably wouldn't fit on your 13' cat very well.
