View Full Version : Possibly sidelined from fishing due to psycho

THE REEL HEY_YALL

Well if O's hasn't told y'all yet, but I may be sidelined from fishing for a week or two, but most definitely from rowing for a bit. Last night at one of the gas stations in Tumwater, my brother and I had this upper 20's, white male, skinhead, 250 pound coked up guy spit on my brother's car while pulling into the lot. No we didn't start anything surprisingly enough. Well the guy approached us and started verbally assaulting us, and I nicely instructed him to keep walking in the direction he was headed... Well he lunged at me to try and grab my throat. I grabbed his collar bone and monkey-flipped him on his back. He got back up and again I told him to leave so he wouldn't get hurt. About 3 or 4 more monkey-flips and getting back up to try again, his warning was over and I had to fend the guy off of me by pounding his eyeballs so far down his pants so he could see the @ss whoopin' he was going to get.

Well I let up on him and finally told him he was going to go to jail, and to just leave the scene, but he just kept on coming, and I kept pounding him. Well, about 7 minutes into this (cops called 5 minutes earlier), he whips a chain out of his pocket, tries to choke me with it, but a monkey-flip again and he's down.

Well, instead of jumping on him, he sees his green light and kicks me in my knees (a big no no) and starts swinging his chain, but I catch his chain with the left hand and cold-**** the guy with the right = broken right hand on his mouth and eye.

Keep in mind that I had been fending this guy off for 10 minutes (cops still not there), and a big logger guy helps me hold this guy down so I wouldn't have to keep hitting him (still didn't realize hand was broken at this point), but couldn't get the chain from the guy and he wants to let the guy up (?????? http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif ).

I was ready, but I don't think big logger **** was, but sho nuff, he gets up and starts swinging that damned chain at everyone! I ducked it 2 times and slugged him down. He tried to tackle me, but I elbowed him 2 good times in the spine and with my left foot was able to kick the chain away from him.

Well logger man backed off and stayed clear, so I put my knee in chain boy's shoulder blades, pulled his arms back, and lifted him up. Cops were coming around the bend, so our assailant tries to run, but my brother helps me hold him. The guy looks at my brother and spits a big wad of blood in his face at point blank range and starts laughing. Of course Matt wanted to hit him, but I told him to back off because it's over.

Cops arrive (only about 10 friggin' cars) with guns drawn, and our assailant starts yelling about him being the victim, so when that laser dot shows on your chest, sometimes you just have to let someone go http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif Well about 20 witnesses all start yelling about what they saw and how that guy was full of "poo" as he attacked us, etc. and some of the witnesses.

Well to shorten it all up: That guy caught 2 assault charges, took a nice ride to the hospital, and is still in jail.

Well my right hand has a boxer's fracture in the knuckles, and my knees are really sore, plus having a torn rotator cuff to begin with surely isn't helping either.

Moral of the story is, always be thankful for your blessings in your life cause you never know when they could be gone, and tell those that you love, that you love them, cause once it's over, there's no coming back to right past wrongs, etc. And above all else, always tried to be prepared for all the weirdos and psychos (and alabama rednecks). The above story may have turned out different if that were a gun instead of a chain. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I go back to the doctor to get xrayed again on Monday for my hand, shoulder, and knees. My knees are really what I fear since I've already had several surgeries on my left one. I may not be able to fish, but I have a soft cast on instead of the hard cast...that took some begging with the doctor, and I may not be able to fish, and I surely won't be able to row my new boat around for a long time http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif So I ask that y'all pray for me so I can see y'all at "church"! If I go this weekend, I'll be the guy with a smile on his face, and a duct taped cast on the right! http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED!

ps y'all, try not to bash me too hard since I can only peck at the keyboard http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif and sorry to be a "hard" @ss today Jen.....y'all feel like doing the jokes then I say "braaang it on" because the satire will be back very soon...muh ha ha ha ha

Sorry to hear about the assault Mike. There are weirdos out there. That's similar to the crazy guy Pilar and his friend ran into on the Clackamas. ... Heal up fast. And ask your brother why he just watched for several minutes instead of help corral and detain this guy.

I am not quite sure what a monkey flip is but it sounds like something your idol Diamond Dallas Page would do.

The only other guy I know who could grab a collar bone and subdue somebody was Spock. Are your ears pointy also?

On the serious side, you now have a legimate reason to wear duct tape on your body in public. Must be proud day for you and family.

Where was your brother for this 10 minute ordeal? I hope he wasnt either pumping gas or trying to get the bulk duct tape out of the trunk.

And when I think of the south fighting, I always envision a bunch of people lined up wearing red uniforms shoulder to shoulder shooting flintlocks. I guess the south finally wins one http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

took about an hour to type that above out. I should have Trish Stratus as my personal assistant here helping me "recover"

LOL @ watching the dubbya dubbya eff too much. A monkey flip is when you flip the guy over using his own momentum against him, thus the 2 handed Vulcalabamian grip. I had to shorten it, and edit it for content as well. LOL @ DDP being role model...naw I'm a bit more towards the Rattlesnake.

Ya know it's sad for that guy to be that way, especially when I taught **** prevention class at the Univ. of AL so he didn't know what kind of hornet's nest he was getting into. Y'all pray for him too because it will take him longer to recover and he's obviously looney tunes.

Oh the seat on my Cat is very thankful I imagine.....muh ha ha ha although all the bragging I've done about her might have O's interested.

Thanks for the words fellas and this ain't gonna keep me down, just going to **** me off to really get recovered.

Sorry to hear about your bout with an idiot. I had a similar incident a little over a year ago. Unfortunately the guy got away and I wasn't able to press charges. Back in "the old days" we were too busy having fun to be violent. I don't know where these guys come from.

I can also relate to your torn rotator cuff, it sucks. Mine is torn too, as well as chronic tendonitis. My shoulder problems all started from a repetitive motion injury -BACKBOUNCING! Throw in a little mishap with a rototiller, and now I carry lots of divers in the boat. http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hope you recover well and soon.

My brother was helping by being the witness. I gave him strict instructions when the guy started making his way towards us in the parking lot not to get involved no matter what went down and to listen to whatever I said. I've dealt with these situations a little more than he has. Plus he was the guy that notified the clerks inside the store to call the cops once the warnings had ended. I guess wrasslin' all those oppossums so I could eat paid off http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif See y'all tomorrow.

Hey_yall, It all goes back to Darwin's original theory. Guys like that end up face down in the gutter sooner or later. It's just a matter of time before they run across someone who doesn't care if they go to jail for kill'n someone. I've had a couple of similiar situations myself in my younger years. Lucky enough I was like you, young and spunky, and could dish out a good a$$ kick'n. But now I'm a little to brittle to playing that game. It's one of the reasons I keep a two and half foot long pipe wrench in my truck, of course it's only used for checking the tightness of my ball.

HEY_YALL,
I knew the South was gonna do it again! Thank God you had the ability to fight for your life. Everyone should ask themselves if they would be ready if this happened to them. Out of shape? Get in shape! No training? Get some!
Start your rehab by slowly crinkling up a unfolded sheet of newspaper, starting with the corner of it and manipulating it until it is balled up in your hand. If that is too easy, add a sheet. Make sure your hand is ready first.

03-08-2001, 12:27 AM
Sounds like one hell of fight. Glad the South won one, and good luck on the knees and 'cuff (not to mention the hand -- that'll heal fastest).

Many, many moons ago I must of tangled with your idiot's uncle because my fight was a carbon copy of what you described. (Except the guy I pounded on was real drunk and about 50lbs lighter than your dude -- but not when I tell the story! And he didn't have a chain. And I didn't break my hand -- just felt like it after beating on his thick skull for 5 minutes. Some people just don't know when to quit.) Anyway, congratulations on escaping without any in-patient treatment.

My advice, Hey_Yall, is to git yo'self a purty girlfriend who can tie egg loops while yur on the mend.

PS I'm still deadset against fighting when it's avoidable -- I don't call people out of bars any more, or think about clubbing some cretin to his knees out on the river because he's ruined/ stolen my fishing spot. But some times you can't or shouldn't walk away and this was one of 'em. As a Missouri-born border state redneck, I say you did what you had to do. Now crank up that Skynyrd and fetch the bottle of proof 101. It's pain relief time.

If you have trouble raaling the fish in, just set the hook and hand the rod off. I am sure one of the boys would help you out http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif Or you could take up plunking on the bar and tie your line off to your bumper...when the bell rings drop the clutch http://www.ifish.net/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif You might want to upgrade your line for that one or youre clutch if its sturgeon.

Man that was the first fight in years that I've been in, and I too stopped calling people out or whatever, plus I didn't want to fight this guy because I didn't want to possibly spend the night in jail, but I guess you can only tell someone to get lost for so long.
