What do you, the iFish community, think is the best scent to add to sturgeon bait? Or do you perfer to let mother nature add her own smells?

I've heard talk of Marie's sturgeon scent.
For the most part, I've heard these old salty dogs speak a lot about using WD-40
I know anise works. Probably anything that's really smelleeeee.

Sturgeon Feast Smelly Liquid is THE BEST sturgeon scent I have ever used. It is made by smelly jelly. Inject it into your smelt and you will have a hard time keeping the fish off.

Work is for people who have an expensive fishing habit to support.

I heard there was a formula change about 4 years ago in WD-40. They changed the level of petroleum based ingredients. A friend of mine told me that the newer stuff doens't milk as well as the old formula. He always mixed WD-40 and anise oil to inject into his smelt.

So a couple of years ago we were down at Astoria trying to catch the Great White, fishing was great, catching was a bit slow.
Most of the time I take my sons Josh and Casy with me on the trip (13 & 14.
Well Josh was getting bored, no action, nobody around us was getting any either. So he asks, "Dad, can I make some secret sauce?".
Well he had tortured the sandshrimp to death by this point, so to keep things interesting I told him to go for it.
He gets out a large Zip Lock bag, adds smelt, ***** scent, ***** scent, sturgeon *****, sturgeon *****, and a shot of ******.
I was laughing my a** off by this point, figured that ought to kill something if it can't catch it.
So, first smelt out, hits bottom, sits maybe 30 seconds, boink boink boink, fish on! First one was 41" and swam away to fight again. More bait, 30 seconds, boink boink boink, Fish on!! This one was a keeper, 45" .
So Dad, being not so dumb as he looks, baits up, 30 seconds, fish on!! Keeper 48".
Next up, Casey, Bait, 30 seconds, boink boink boink, fish on!! Keeper, 50".
Well we bled our fish and headed back to the launch.
This secret sauce has worked on more than one occasion since that day, just think, a bored teenager putting me onto the stuff.
And to think, everytme I type out the ingrediants, all I get is Asterisks.

Ok, so i'm in GI Joe's and I strike up a conversation with a guide who helped me with my anchor setup. He left me with a tip, 1 part DMSO and 1 part Tabasco sauce. Injected into a smelt drives the sturgeon crazy. Now I would like to know if anyone else has heard of this or is this fellow trying to keep the sturgeon to himself. He said you get the dmso at a feed store.

Hmmmmm, DMSO and Tabasco?? Don't get it on your skin or the DMSO and the tabasco is under your skin, in your blood stream and spicing you up good. Is this a joke? At least wear rubber gloves.

No joke, guy said he's been using it for 10 yrs. He learned it from an oldtimer. I was simply trying to see if anyone else has used it before. Thus saving me from any undo trauma.
